Wamiqa Gabbi joins Rishab Shetty in Prasanth Varma’s Jai Hanuman

2026 is becoming a really good year for Wamiqa Gabbi.She started the year with the big hit movie Bhooth Bangla, starring Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan.Then she did Pati, Patni Aur Woh Do, and is now getting a lot of praise for her role as Chandra in her new Tamil film, DC: The Bloody Valentine.Her good times seem to be continuing, as she has just been cast in what might be her biggest film yet.

Source has found out that Wamiqa Gabbi has joined Rishab Shetty’s upcoming big movie, Jai Hanuman.

She will play a major and strong character in the film directed by Prasanth Varma, but the details of her role are not yet revealed.The actress is excited about joining the world of mythology, action, and devotion and will soon start filming in Hyderabad.

Jai Hanuman is the much-anticipated sequel to Prasanth Varma’s 2024 film Hanu-Man, which featured Teja Sajja as a small-time thief who discovers powers like Hanuman.

Rishab Shetty, who became a big star because of his success with the Kantara series, is now playing the role of Lord Hanuman in this sequel.The film is an exciting action story set in Kaliyug, celebrating Hanuman's strong devotion, loyalty, and timeless strength, while showing him as an immortal spirit.

The movie is produced by Mythri Movie Makers and presented by T-Series.

It is part of the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU), a superhero universe inspired by the rich history of India.Other movies in this universe include Mahakali, which is about Goddess Kali, and Adhira, based on Lord Indra.The film started filming in March, and the production is moving quickly with a big theatrical release planned for the second half of 2027.

In the meantime, Wamiqa has several exciting projects coming up.

Madhuri Dixit turns host for Kon Honar Crorepati; actress unveils first promo in Maharashtrian avatar

Madhuri Dixit has announced her next television project, and this time, she is stepping into an entirely new role.

She will be hosting the Marathi version of the popular quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati, titled Kon Honar Crorepati.The actress shared the first-look promo of the show on social media, giving fans a glimpse of her new look.

The promo shows Madhuri in a traditional Maharashtrian outfit, including a nath, as she announces the start of the quiz show.

Interestingly, the promo uses the background music from her hit song “Pehla Pehla Pyaar Hai” from the film Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, adding a nostalgic feel to the announcement.

Sharing the promo on Instagram, Madhuri wrote in Marathi, “जे कधीही घडलं नाही ते घडणार...

The announcement has already created a lot of excitement among Madhuri Dixit’s fans, with many leaving heart emojis in the comments and expressing their eagerness to watch her in this new role.

Though Madhuri has been on TV for a long time, this is a new addition to her TV career.

This will be her first time hosting a quiz-based reality show and her first association with the Kaun Banega Crorepati franchise.She has previously hosted dance-based shows and been a judge on several TV programmes.

With Madhuri now behind the host desk, Kon Honar Crorepati is set to bring the popular quiz format to Marathi-speaking audiences, combining it with her unique presence.

 Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt's international action movie 7 Dogs is coming to Indian cinemas on August 21.The film, which already showed in the Middle East, will now be seen by Indian audiences. The presence of Salman and Sanjay in the movie is expected to be very interesting for fans.

A.R. Rahman’s son injured in car accident in Chennai, discharged from hospital: Report

 A.R.Rahman's son and singer A.R.Ameen got some small injuries after the car he was in crashed into a taxi in Chennai on Monday morning, as reported by IANS. He was with a friend when the accident happened. Both were taken to a private hospital for check-ups and were released after receiving treatment.

The crash happened around 3:30 a.m. as Ameen and his friend were driving towards Guindy on Jawaharlal Nehru Road. The accident occurred near Olympia Tech Park when a taxi came onto the main road from a side street.

Both cars were damaged in the crash, and Ameen and his friend had minor injuries. They went to a private hospital where doctors checked them and gave them treatment. The police confirmed that their injuries were not serious and that both were later allowed to leave the hospital.

A passenger in the taxi also got hurt in the crash. That person was taken to Kalaignar Centenary Super Speciality Hospital for treatment and was released later.

So far, there are no reports of anyone having life-threatening injuries.

The Adyar Traffic Investigation Wing is looking into the accident to find out what exactly happened.

The police are checking the events to see how the taxi entered Jawaharlal Nehru Road and if factors like speed were involved.

They are also planning to look at CCTV footage from cameras around the area. Statements from the drivers and people in both cars will be part of the investigation.

The crash happened early in the morning when traffic on the main road was not too heavy.

Ramayana to be screened at Big Cine Expo 2026, Chennai; Rakesh Roshan to receive Special Achievement Award

 An event called Big Cine Expo happens every year where people from the movie industry come to celebrate cinema and the exhibition business.These people include theatre owners, design consultants, equipment makers, system integrators, project managers, and others who work in the cinema world.One big part of the event is showing special clips from a new movie.This year, people will get to see some secret footage from the much-anticipated movie Ramayana.The film stars big names like Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, Sunny Deol, Sai Pallavi, Ravie Dubey, Rakul Preet Singh, Lara Dutta, and others.

The Big Cine Expo 2026 will take place on August 18 and 19 in Chennai, and the preview of the Ramayana footage will happen on the first day.

Attendees will not be allowed to use their phones or take any photos or videos during the screening.This is because the footage will include parts of the movie that have not been seen before.There will also be team members present in the screening area to make sure nobody takes pictures or records anything during the show.

However, the actors from Ramayana, the director Nitesh Tiwari, and the producer Namit Malhotra will not be at the event.

Instead, Parminder Chadda, who is the technical head of Prime Focus, will be the one to present the exclusive footage.

Akshay Kumar to play Rajesh Khanna in Farhan Akhtar and Neeraj Pandey’s R D Burman biopic

Earlier in the week, it was reported that Akshay Kumar is coming back to work with director Neeraj Pandey on the R D Burman biopic.The news also said that Akshay will have a longer role in this movie, which is about R D Burman and has Farhan Akhtar playing him.

The source also shared that Akshay is really excited to play his father in law in the film.
