CBFC passes Awarapan 2 with U/A 16+ certificate and minimal cuts

Almost a week is left until the release of Awarapan 2, and there's a lot of excitement because of how popular the first movie was.People remember it well for its intense romantic story, the actors chosen, and the music, which could become big hits. The film’s censor process was done early. In this article, we’ll focus on the changes made to the film.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) gave the film a U/A 16+ certificate, but they also asked for some parts to be changed.

First, the makers were told to add warnings for scenes showing drug use and child trafficking.

A similar warning was added to the smoking scenes.Since 2021, the rules say the film title must be in Hindi.

For drug use scenes, a static warning about anti-drug messages had to be at the bottom right corner.

Words that are considered obscene had to be replaced in both the audio and subtitles. In the second half of the film, a violent scene was cut by half.

Also, three scenes with extreme violence were removed. At the middle of the film, a scene showing someone snorting drugs was taken out.

After making these changes, Awarapan 2 got the censor certificate on August 5. The film is listed as 140.20 minutes long, which is 2 hours, 20 minutes, and 20 seconds.

The movie stars Emraan Hashmi, Disha Patani, Shabana Azmi, and others.

It’s set to come out in theaters on August 14.

Only non adult film of the season  Interestingly, Awarapan 2 is the only Hindi film in the coming month that hasn't received an 'A' certificate.

It will be competing with Batwara 1947, which got an 'A' rating. The next big film is Toxic, releasing on August 26, followed by Mirzapur The Movie on September 4.Both of these are likely to get an 'A' rating as well.
