The Akshay Kumar starrer has now made Rs.
117.78 crores and is expected to earn about Rs.4 to 4.50 crores more between today and tomorrow. While that would bring it closer to the Rs.125 crores mark, the real excitement will be in the journey towards the Rs.150 crores target.A lot will depend on how well the film holds up during the next weekend, especially with Dhamaal 4 releasing this Friday. There will also be some reserved shows for Alpha, and holdover films will only have a few shows left at some multiplexes.
The positive thing is that Bollywood now has another success this year, which has mostly seen disappointments rather than big wins.
For Akshay Kumar, this is another back-to-back hit after Bhooth Bangla, and if we include his releases from last year, it all adds up to a strong run since SkyForce, Kesari: Chapter 2, Housefull 5, and Jolly LLB 3.His next film, Haiwaan, is set to be another genre-changing movie, continuing his trend of exploring different kinds of stories.
