After Raj and DK, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra to direct Salman Khan in a period film for Farhan Akhtar

Earlier in the week, there were news stories saying that Salman Khan is working with Excel Entertainment for the first time on a big-budget historical drama.And it seems those reports are real.According to very trustworthy sources, Salman Khan is in serious talks with Excel Entertainment for a historical film that will be directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, who has won national awards.

A source told , "Salman Khan is interested in big projects and thinks that the Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra film will do justice to his big star image.

He has read the script and was really impressed with his character.He will be playing one of the most famous characters from Indian history and will have to completely change his body shape."

The same source added that Salman hasn't signed the contract yet, and talks are going on with Excel Entertainment, especially about the shooting schedule and pay.

"If everything goes smoothly, Salman will start shooting for the film in summer 2027, right after wrapping up his superhero comedy with Raj and DK," the source.

More details about the project will be shared by the end of this year, as Salman is taking his time to make a smart decision.
