Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali thanked the people who helped show his new movie, Main Vaapas Aaunga, in theaters.The film started with only moderate numbers at the box office but has been doing better over time with more people watching it.The movie features actors like Sharvari, Vedang Raina, Diljit Dosanjh, and Naseeruddin Shah.It was released on June 12, 2026.
Even though it didn’t start with a huge opening, the film has been getting good reviews from audiences, which has led to more screenings in different parts of the country.
In a video message, Imtiaz Ali expressed his thanks to the people who help run the theaters and distribute the movie.
He said, “I want to thank you for your strong support, which has helped us grow the film’s reach and success.”
He also shared feedback from various theater owners and chains.
PVR INOX CEO Gautam Dutta said the film has been growing steadily each day, showing real and lasting interest from the audience.Imtiaz also mentioned that PVR INOX added more showtimes, including one at 6:50 AM in Bengaluru, which was almost full.He said he has been visiting theaters and people are telling him they want more showtimes.
Cinepolis India Managing Director Devang Sampath praised the film, saying it has strong word of mouth and is doing well at the box office.
According to Imtiaz, Cinepolis added 30% more showings between Friday and Saturday because of the rising demand and better crowd numbers.
Positive reports came from different regions like West Bengal, Central India, Hyderabad, and Delhi-UP.
West Bengal distributor Shatadeep Saha said the film had a big turnaround in earnings, leading to more showings.In Hyderabad, Allu Cineplex, owned by Allu Arjun, added more showtimes from 7 to 13 in a week due to high attendance.
Imtiaz also got positive feedback from exhibitors in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, who added more screenings after the first week because of the audience’s appreciation.
Imtiaz concluded by thanking the exhibitors and distributors for helping the film reach more people.
“It’s because of your support that more and more people are able to watch the film,” he said.
As Main Vaapas Aaunga continues in theaters, its performance shows how much audience support can help a movie do well even after its first weekend.
