Ranveer Singh buys the rights for The Immortal of Meluha trilogy for Rs. 40 crores from Amish Tripathi

After the success of the Dhurandhar franchise, Ranveer Singh has become the new King of the Indian Film Industry. With a string of all-time box office hits, the young actor has officially become a superstar, and everyone is now watching what he does next. While there are many discussions about the financial details of Pralay in the industry, Bollywood Hungama has learned that Ranveer Singh has quietly bought the rights for The Immortals of Meluha.

"A Ranveer Singh was supposed to star in Immortals of Meluha for Sanjay Leela Bhansali, but the project never happened.
However, the actor always wanted to play Lord Shiva and had a strong desire to bring this story to the big screen. As soon as the rights for Immortals of Meluha expired from Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Ranveer quickly bought them under his own production company, Maa Kasam Films," a source told Bollywood Hungama.

The same source also said that the amount Ranveer Singh paid for the rights is the highest ever for a novel.
"Ranveer has bought the entire Meluha trilogy for a huge sum of Rs. 40 crores. It's a project he is really passionate about, and he has already started developing it. Five years ago, he relied on Sanjay Leela Bhansali to make this a reality, but now he is in a strong position to choose the director. He is dedicated to making the Meluha trilogy into a big spectacle."

The film will be produced by Ranveer Singh along with Birla Studios, but no other updates will be shared until the script is finalized.
The movie is expected to start filming in 2028.
