Kriti Sanon says winning National Award for Mimi felt like she had “shattered some notions”: “One of the highest points of my career”

Kriti Sanon recently looked back on some of the key moments in her career and talked about how the role of Mimi was a big turning point for her as an actor.

Thinking about the movie and how it was received, Kriti said, "The biggest moment was Mimi, and the love it got because it was my first project where I took full charge.
We were living through a very uncertain time with the Covid-19 pandemic; the film was supposed to be released in theaters but ended up being streamed online instead."

She added that the film's response, along with winning the National Award for Best Actress, is one of the most important milestones in her journey so far. "
Winning the National Award was one of the highest points of my career. I felt like I broke some old ideas people had about me, and I was ready for more. I think the audience was ready for more too," the actress said.

In the past two years, Kriti has acted in films of different kinds.
Talking about where she is now, she said connecting with the audience is the most important thing for her. "I've had a really good past two years. All my films, whether it's Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, Crew, Do Patti or Tere Ishq Mein, have different characters and settings, but they all connected with the audience. It's very important to connect with viewers, especially now, when mediocrity just doesn't work," she said.

Kriti will next be seen in Cocktail 2.
