Yash’s Toxic teaser draws complaint from AAP Women’s wing to Karnataka commission: Report

The teaser for the highly awaited Kannada movie *Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups*, featuring Yash, has faced formal complaints from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Women’s Wing. They have filed a report with the Karnataka State Women’s Commission, claiming that the teaser includes "obscene visuals" that could harm women, children, and cultural norms. This issue has sparked a bigger discussion about what should and shouldn't be shown in advertising in Indian movies.

The teaser was released on January 8, which was Yash’s 40th birthday, and quickly gained a lot of attention for its stylish and daring visuals.
One scene showed Yash and a woman in a car, which some people found too intimate. While some liked the look and the confidence of the teaser, others said it was not suitable for everyone to watch.

According to a report by NDTV, the AAP Women’s Wing said the visuals hurt the social well-being of women and children and threatened Kannada culture.
They asked the Karnataka State Women’s Commission to tell the government to take the teaser down or cancel it, and to remove it from social media. The party also asked for stronger rules to control the spread of such content on the internet and ensure cultural responsibility.

Usha Mohan, the AAP State Secretary, said after filing the complaint that the teaser was shared without any age limit or warning, which she thinks treats women unfairly and puts kids at risk.
She urged the Commission and the state authorities to act quickly.

The Karnataka State Women’s Commission has received the complaint and will look into it according to standard procedures.
So far, there has been no official statement from the Commission about any further action.

*Toxic*, which also stars Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria, is set for a theatrical release on March 19, 2026, and is expected to compete with another big movie, *Dhurandhar Part 2*, at the box office.
