Rani Mukerji-starrer Oh My Goddess to go on floors in February; Akshay Kumar to have an extended cameo on the scale of OMG 2

The year 2026 started with some big news as it was revealed that Akshay Kumar had joined the third part of the OMG series. The reports also said that this time, Rani Mukerji would be the main actress in the film. That's not all. The movie won't be called OMG 3, but instead it's named Oh My Goddess. A source confirmed that the movie is being made and shared more details about it.

The source said, "Oh My Goddess will start filming in February.

 It was said that Akshay Kumar would have a special appearance and shoot for just a day or two. But the truth is that he has a longer cameo and is spending more time on set. In fact, his acting time is similar to or almost the same as he had in OMG 2 (2023)."

The source added, "The script was finalized last year.

 It's a fresh idea and director Amit Rai is taking it one step further to give the audience something new within the OMG universe. Everyone on the team is excited about the film and is ready to start shooting. Also, Akshay Kumar and Rani Mukerji have never worked together before, which has created a lot of excitement both inside and outside the industry."

Meanwhile, Rani Mukerji is preparing for a busy 2026.

 An industry insider said, "Rani's Mardaani 3 is set to release in cinemas on February 27. If Oh My Goddess starts filming next month, she'll have to manage both the shoot and the promotion for her cop drama. She'll also be filming for Shah Rukh Khan's much-anticipated movie, King. This means that after a long time, Rani will have two movies coming out this year. Oh My Goddess is expected to be released in cinemas in 2027."
