IMAX chief calls Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana: Part 1 “the most anticipated global film this year”

At a recent event where IMAX talked about its plans to expand around the world, the company's Chief Content Officer, Jonathan Fischer, called *Ramayana: Part 1* "the most anticipated global film this year." The movie is also set to come out in IMAX theaters worldwide when it opens during Diwali 2026, showing how big, creative, and popular this special story is.

*Ramayana: Part 1* is directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, along with eight-time Oscar-winning DNEG.
 The two-part story will come out globally in IMAX, with Part 1 showing in Diwali 2026 and Part 2 in Diwali 2027.

What makes *Ramayana* stand out is that it’s not just another version of a classic story.
 The film promises a visually amazing and deeply emotional movie experience. It mixes rich mythology with huge scale, modern visual effects, and top-quality work.
