Sunny Deol made a big splash in 2023 with the huge movie Gadar 2. His next film, Jaat, which is coming out in 2025, shows that Gadar 2 wasn't just a lucky hit. Fans are very excited about his upcoming movies. He will start 2026 with Border 2 on Republic Day, followed by Gabru. Gabru is an emotional drama and the makers have a special surprise for the audience, which they are keeping secret. It has been revealed that Salman Khan will have a special role in Gabru.
A source told , "They needed a big star and the makers knew Salman Khan was the right fit.
He was asked and loved the role and how it brings something special to the film. He quietly shot his scenes over a year ago and the film is coming together well."
Sharing more about Salman Khan's role in Gabru, the source added, "Salman's cameo in Gabru is heartfelt and adorable.
It's also very entertaining. He has three scenes, so it's an extended special appearance. Interestingly, Salman and Sunny Deol are very close, but have only worked together once before, in Jeet (1996). They also worked on Heroes (2008) but never shared screen time in the war film. This also made Salman want to be part of Gabru."
Besides Gabru, Salman Khan will have another special role in the first half of 2026, in Raja Shivaji.
He will play Jiva Mahala, one of the most trusted warriors of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, who is played by Riteish Deshmukh. Raja Shivaji will release in theaters on May 1, while Gabru will be out on March 13. The first half of next year will also see Salman in the lead role of the much-anticipated war film, Battle Of Galwan.
