There was very little activity for Mastiii 4 as the movie didn’t reach the Rs. 3 crores mark even on Saturday. After a weak start of Rs. 2.25 crores on Friday, the film’s only hope was to somehow cross Rs. 3 crores on Saturday and then Rs. 4 crores on Sunday. That would have given it a chance to run for more than a week. However, with the film not showing much growth on Saturday, it’s clear that things aren’t looking good.
The adult comedy managed to earn just Rs. 2.35 crores on Saturday, which pretty much ended its chances.
The trend suggests that the best it could do on Sunday is around Rs. 2.50 crores, which means the weekend collections will stay under the Rs. 7 crores mark. The previous film in the series, Great Grand Masti, was a flop but had a better trajectory with weekend collections of Rs. 8.20 crores. Now, Mastiii 4 will end up below that.
So far, this Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani starrer has collected Rs. 4.60 crores.
Ideally, this should have been the first day score for any hope of a long run. Low collections like these don’t look promising for a genre that usually performs best in its opening weekend. Now, the focus is on collecting as much as possible before Tere Ishk Mein and Gustaakh Ishq arrive on the coming Friday.
