Salman Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger gets INTERNATIONAL honour; is the ONLY Indian film to be featured at International Spy Museum, Washington DC, USA; Kabir Khan reacts

While traveling abroad, there are few moments that make us feel more proud than finding a piece of India highlighted on a global stage. This writer had one such exciting and proud moment at the famous International Spy Museum in Washington DC, USA. In a special part of the museum that showcases iconic spy films and series, around 25 international titles are honored. Among them is *Ek Tha Tiger*, starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. Remarkably, this is the only Hindi film on this special wall of fame, which is a rare achievement given the hundreds of spy films made around the world. For *Ek Tha Tiger* to be featured here is truly special.

Other films listed in this section of the International Spy Museum include *Casino Royale*, *Mission Impossible*, *Spy Game*, *Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy*, *Seventeen Moments of Spring*, *OSS 117*, *G Men*, *The Imitation Game*, *Mr. & Mrs. Smith*, *Bridge of Spies*, *Homeland*, *Alias*, *Fauda*, *The Prisoner*, *Get Smart*, *Men in Black*, *The Siege*, *Turn: Washington's Spies*, and *The Man from U.N.C.L.E.*.

Source spoke exclusively with *Ek Tha Tiger* director Kabir Khan about this honor.
He said, “I didn’t know about it at all, and I found out from people who saw it there. They messaged me saying, ‘We saw the poster of *Ek Tha Tiger* and it’s the only Hindi film there in the whole galaxy of films.’ I found it very amusing and it was great to see Salman and Katrina’s faces on that wall!”

He also said, “Some films become even more popular over time.
*Ek Tha Tiger* is one of those films. It has grown in popularity, especially since it became part of the Spyverse created by Yash Raj. Being the first film of the universe gives it a special place. I still get many messages about it today, and people appreciate what we did back then. Those were the days when we didn’t rely much on VFX for action. I think there’s a big difference between real, gritty action and too much VFX. The latter doesn’t connect with the audience.”

Kabir Khan also mentioned another reason that helped *Ek Tha Tiger* stand out, “It was the first film to bring the spy genre to a big audience with stars like Salman and Katrina.
 That probably helped too.”

When asked when he started getting messages about *Ek Tha Tiger* being honored at the International Spy Museum, he replied, “This must have been a recent addition.
The first message I received was a few months ago.”

The International Spy Museum is located in Washington DC, the capital of the USA.
It documents the history, methods, and modern role of espionage. It has the largest public collection of espionage-related items. According to the museum’s website, it opened in 2002 and moved to a new, expanded location in 2019.

A visit to the International Spy Museum is worth it because it displays artifacts, items, and other materials in an engaging and interesting way.
The museum has sections on topics like espionage in North Korea, life in Berlin during the Cold War, what happens when spies are caught, famous real-life spies like Mata Hari, and spies who changed history. One such section is about secret agents in films and TV shows, and that’s where *Ek Tha Tiger* is honored.
