Ajay Devgn's Son of Sardaar 2 is getting a lot of attention, but not just because of the big stars or the funny trailer.
Before the film comes out, it ran into some issues with the Censor Board, which made some changes to the dialogues. From less strong words to milder expressions, here's everything you need to know before the film hits the theaters.
CBFC's main changes
According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the CBFC's Examining Committee asked for several changes to the dialogues in Son of Sardaar 2.
A mention of Chinese President Xi Jinping was softened, and the word 'item' was changed to 'madam'. The phrase 'kuttey ki tarah' was replaced with 'bahut buri tarah'. Also, a line that started with 'Bhagwan' and ended with '... pe Lezim' was altered. Notably, no action scenes were removed.
Certified with U/A 13+ rating
The CBFC has given Son of Sardaar 2 a U/A 13+ certificate after the makers made the suggested changes.
The film has an official runtime of 2 hours, 27 minutes, and 32 seconds, according to the board's report.
Release delayed
Son of Sardaar 2 was originally planned for a July 25, 2025 release, but it has been postponed to August 1.
The new date sets up a competition with Dhadak 2, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, at the box office.
Ajay Devgn comes back as Jaswinder Singh Randhawa (Jassi), and Mrunal Thakur plays his love interest, Rabia.
Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, the film also features Neeru Bajwa, Deepak Dobriyal, Kubbra Sait, Chunky Panday, Sharat Saxena, Vindu Dara Singh, Ashwini Kalsekar, and the late Mukul Dev. The film is co-produced by Devgn Films and Jio Studios.
