Dhadak 2 Movie Review Synopsis:
DHADAK 2 tells the story of two people from different backgrounds who fall in love.
Neelesh (Siddhant Chaturvedi) is from a lower caste and has been accepted into the National University of Law through a special program. His classmate, Vidhisha or Vidhi (Triptii Dimri), is from a higher caste. They develop a strong connection and eventually fall in love. Vidhi's sister, Nimisha (Deeksha Joshi), is getting married, and Vidhi invites Neelesh to the ceremony. Though Vidhi's family objects to him attending, they allow him to come. Neelesh is excited about the wedding, but what happens there changes everything and sets the rest of the story in motion.
Dhadak 2 Movie Story Review:
DHADAK 2 is based on the 2018 Tamil film PARIYERUM PERUMAL.
Shazia Iqbal and Rahul Badwelkar have adapted the story in a simple yet impactful way. It’s not a direct copy of the original but captures the same strong message. The first half of the movie feels a bit slow, but the second half is more engaging. The dialogues are well-written and make sense.
Shazia Iqbal's direction is very good.
She shows how caste discrimination is still a big problem in society today. This makes DHADAK 2 a bold and important movie. The main characters are well-developed, and the issues they face because of their love story make the film compelling. The twist in the middle of the movie is shocking and takes the story to a new level. The ending is also powerful and would make people clap in the cinema.
However, there are a few things that could have been better.
The first half doesn’t build up tension as well as it should. The way Neelesh and Vidhi fall in love quickly feels a bit rushed. Also, the character of Shekhar (Priyank Tiwari) doesn’t get enough explanation, and it seems like his role isn’t fully justified. Lastly, the music doesn’t feel as strong as it could be.
Dhadak 2 Movie Review Performances:
Siddhant Chaturvedi plays a challenging role with confidence.
He shows the internal conflict of someone who wants to fight back but is held back by his identity. The actor does a great job bringing this out. Triptii Dimri is once again excellent. She shows strength even though she has less screen time in the second half. She shines in the pre-climax and climax. Saurabh Sachdeva (Shankar) has an important role and is very good. Priyanka Tiwari is decent but could have had more to work with. Vipin Sharma (Neelesh's father) has a unique character and does a solid job. Saad Bilgrami (Ronnie) is okay as the villain. Zakir Hussain (Principal Haider Ansari) and Harish Khanna (Vidhi's father Arvind) leave a lasting impression. Deeksha Joshi, Aditya Thakare (Vasu), Abhay Joshi (Vidhi's uncle Prakash), Anubha Fatehpuria (Neelesh's mother), and Manjiri Pupala (Richa) all do well in their supporting roles.
Dhadak 2 movie music and other technical aspects:
The songs fit well into the story but aren’t very memorable.
'Bas Ek Dhadak', 'Preet Re', 'Duniya Alag', and 'Yeh Kaisa Ishq' are emotionally moving, while 'Bawaria' is catchy. Tanuj Tiku’s background score matches the mood of the film.
Sylvester Fonseca’s cinematography is appropriate.
Suman Roy Mahapatra’s production design and Prashant Sawant’s costumes are realistic. Amrit Singh’s action scenes are intense but not too intense. The editing by Omkar Uttam Sakpal and Sangeeth Varghese (supervised by Charu Shree Roy) is mostly acceptable, though the first half and some parts of the second half could have been tighter.
Dhadak 2 Movie Review Conclusion:
Overall, DHADAK 2 is an important film that talks about the caste system.
It succeeds due to its message, strong performances, intense scenes, and powerful ending.
