Shah Rukh Khan wins first National Award for Jawan, 33 years after his film debut

Shah Rukh Khan is finally going to get his first National Film Award for Best Actor for his role in Jawan (2023). 

This comes over three decades after he first appeared on the big screen in Deewana in 1992. Even though he has given many great and well-received performances over the years, this will be his first win at India's most important film awards event. 

Jawan, directed by Atlee, had Shah Rukh Khan in two different roles. 

The film was praised for mixing popular entertainment with meaningful stories. He played both a vigilante and an army officer, exploring ideas about justice, social change, and personal growth. The movie became one of the biggest-grossing Indian films of 2023 and showed that Shah Rukh is not just a famous actor but also a strong performer. 

It is also important to note that Shah Rukh and the team held a press event for Jawan, where he shared, "Honestly, I think Jawan is something every Indian feels. 

I think Jawan is an emotion. Jawan is an Indian soldier, Jawan is an Indian mother, Jawan is an Indian girl, Jawan is an Indian vigilante. You have to understand that Jawan is often weak because it's all of us, and many times, he's ready to fight. Jawan is wrong many times, but also right many times. Sometimes, Jawan lives in darkness. Sometimes, Jawan is the one bringing light. In the end, all of us and every Indian is Jawan who is honest, good, and loving. That's what the whole movie is about. "   

Jawan, directed by Atlee and produced by Gauri Khan under Red Chillies Entertainment, brings together a group of talented actors including Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Sunil Grover, and Eijaz Khan. 

Deepika Padukone also has a special role in the film.
