Shah Rukh Khan reacts to receiving first-ever National Award: “Overwhelmed, humbled, grateful… ready with one hand!”

In a big moment that fans around the world have been waiting for, Shah Rukh Khan has finally won his first National Film Award. This is a huge step in his amazing career, which has been going on for more than thirty years. He got the award for his role in the 2023 movie *Jawan*, directed by Atlee. This film changed how people see him on screen and helped him make a big comeback in Bollywood. 

Shah Rukh Khan shared his feelings on social media, saying, “Overwhelmed, humbled, grateful… ready with one hand! 

” He posted a video thanking the jury, the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, the director Atlee, his family, and his fans. His video was full of his usual humor and charm, and it became very popular online. His funny line, “Half a hug to everyone today… just keep the popcorn ready. I’ll be back on screen soon — with one hand, ready,” caught everyone's attention. That comment was because of a recent injury he had on the set of his next movie. 

In his speech, SRK said, “Being honored with the National Award is a moment I will remember forever. 

Acting is not just a job — it's a responsibility. It's a responsibility to show truth on screen. ” 

He thanked the people who helped shape his big year, saying, “Thank you Raju sir, thank you Saeed, and especially Atlee sir and his team for trusting me. 

Atlee sir, this is — like you say — mass. ” 

SRK also thanked his team and family, calling them the real pillars of his success. 

“They put up with my crazy ideas and impatience and make me look better than I am — even now in this video. My wife and kids love me like I'm the child in the house. They know cinema takes me away from them, but they put up with it with a smile,” he added. 

He also said that this award isn’t just for him, but for his fans too. 

“Thank you for all the cheers and tears. Thank you for stopping to watch me. This award is for you — as each one is. ” 

Shah Rukh Khan’s win is a big deal for Indian cinema. 

After a quiet period in the late 2010s, his return in 2023 with movies like *Pathaan*, *Jawan*, and *Dunki* brought back the excitement to the box office, proving he’s still a big cultural figure.
