It's worth noting that the North American market is mostly driven by Telugu audiences, yet a Tamil film like "Coolie" is leading the booking charts.
This trend is consistent across all regions where pre-sales have opened, with "Coolie" far ahead of "War 2," including in Australia and New Zealand.
This is a big surprise because "War 2" has a much bigger budget and is part of an established franchise.
More theaters are expected to open soon for both films, but right now, "Coolie" is leading by a large margin. What's even more surprising is that the Telugu version of "Coolie" (USD 200,000) is doing better than the Telugu version of "War 2" (USD 155,000) in the US.
Meanwhile, the Hindi version of "War 2" has sold only USD 50,000 worth of tickets, which is much lower than the sales of films like "Pathaan," "Dunki," "Jawan," "Tiger 3," and "Animal.
" The Telugu version of "War 2" is also not doing as well as "Game Changer" in the US. The next 9 days are very important for "War 2" as it needs to pick up speed and make an impression in international markets.
