Aamir Khan intervenes in Coolie release: Makes direct call to PVR-Inox, seeks premium showcasing ahead of War 2 clash

Actor Aamir Khan has unexpectedly become involved in the release strategy for the film Coolie, despite only making a brief appearance. He reportedly called PVR-Inox boss Ajay Bijli directly, asking for premium showings across the country for Coolie, and even pushing for a marketing tie-up with Rajinikanth's film in North India. This is surprising, as Aamir doesn't have a financial stake in Coolie. Industry insiders believe this is more about business than friendship, as Hrithik Roshan's film War 2 is being positioned as the next big franchise event. PVR-Inox is now caught between two powerful entities: YRF, which is backing War 2, and Sun Pictures, which is producing Coolie. The phone call from Aamir has caused worry within the exhibition chain due to his long-standing relationship with Ajay Bijli and a history of last-minute interventions. What was initially planned as a standard release has evolved into a battlefield of egos, leverage, and legacy, with the real drama unfolding off-screen. Both Aamir Khan and NTR Jr. are currently working on films based on DadaSaheb, adding intensity to the off-screen struggles.
