Shahid Kapoor’s film on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj shelved, confirms director Amit Rai

Shahid Kapoor's film about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj has been officially put on hold. Director Amit Rai, who made the hit movie OMG 2, shared this news during a recent chat with Mid-Day. He also talked about his disappointment with the problems he sees in the film industry today.

In the interview, Amit Rai said, "The system is really unfair.
Even if you make a film that earns 180 crores, like OMG 2, it's not enough. How can a director work here with all these problems in casting, production, star power, and management? You spend five years working on a story, and then in just a few minutes, someone writes a five-page report pointing out what's wrong and right about the film. "

Amit also mentioned that Pankaj Tripathi, who acted in OMG 2, is part of his new project.
He added that Akshay Kumar was also interested in joining it. He praised both actors for being generous, but he also said, "An actor will only do what's working commercially. Very few were honest with me. Some weren't interested in making a film that tells the truth about society and instead wanted to do a love story. "

Shahid Kapoor is currently working on Vishal Bhardwaj's upcoming movie.
There's going to be a big box office clash this December. The makers of Shahid's next film have decided to keep the original release date, even though they're facing competition from Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar and Prabhas' much-anticipated The Raja Saab. They don't plan to change the release date, setting up a huge three-way battle at the box office.
