Nargis Fakhri’s sister Aliya Fakhri gets taken into custody after she is charged with murder of ex-boyfriend

Nargis Fakhri and her family are currently embroiled in a major controversy after the Rockstar actress' sister was taken into custody on suspicion of murder. In a fit of rage, Aliyah Fakhri reportedly set fire to her ex-boyfriend Edward Jacob's house, resulting in the deaths of him and his girlfriend Anastasia Star Etienne. According to the report, police officials confirmed Aliyah's involvement in the incident and  denied her bail.

District Attorney Melinda Katz was quoted by the Daily News as saying, "This defendant maliciously ended two lives  by starting a fire that trapped a man and a woman in a raging inferno. The victim tragically died from smoke inhalation and burns." The report also includes reactions from both  families and statements from witnesses. In her post, Jacob's mother acknowledged that Edward and Aliyah broke up about a year ago and that Aliyah continues to show interest in Jacob, but also noted that Edward and Anastasia were "just friends."

After the incident, a key witness came forward, claiming that  Anastasia was rescued but returned home to rescue Jacob. The witness, who is believed to be a friend of Edward and Star, was at the  scene at the time of the incident and reportedly stated: "Star jumped  with me but then  went back and saved me." Additionally, the witness also commented on Aliyah and Jacob's relationship, describing it as "abusive." "It was an abusive relationship. She had told everyone beforehand that she was going to burn down his house and kill him. We just laughed about it," the witness added.

The burned-down home in question  was a two-story garage, and Jacob and Anastasia died from smoke inhalation and burns. Actress Nargis Fakhri, who will star in Housefull 5 alongside Akshay Kumar and Abhishek Bachchan,  has not commented on the matter. But her mother maintained her other daughter's innocence. According to multiple media outlets, she said: "She was someone who cared about everybody. She tried to help everybody."
