Pre-sales for Pushpa 2 – The Rule finally began with a bang today, with shows quickly booking up. Yesterday, at an event in Mumbai, lead actor Allu Arjun announced that the film will be released in a record 12,000 theatres. And now, the film has set a new record in Mumbai's G7 multiplex, popularly known as Gaiety-Galaxy.
Further Away
Pushpa 2 – The Rule will be screened across all six screens of this cinema complex (Gaiety, Galaxy, Gemini, Gossip, Gem, Glamour). In the past, the film was often screened across “Gaiety and Galaxy” or “Gaiety and Gemini/Gossip”. But for the first time, only one film will be screened in all six halls.
At Gaiety, which seats around 1,000, Pushpa 2 – The Rule will be screened at 1 pm, 5 pm and 9 pm. At Galaxy, which seats around 800, the films will be screened at 12 pm, 4 pm and 8 pm. Gemini is a 255-seat theatre with screening times at 2pm, 6pm and 10pm. The 105-seat Gossip will have three shows a day at 11:30am, 3:30pm and 7:30pm. The 47-seat Gem will show films at 12:30pm, 4:30pm and 8:30pm. The 46-seat Glamour will have performance times at 1:30pm, 5:30pm and 9:30pm.
This means that 2 - The Rule will have 18 performances every day, an unprecedented record in Gaiety-Galaxy's 52-year history. The decision to do this was primarily due to the scarcity of other films and the film's running time of 200 minutes. Hence, each cinema can screen only three shows.
On the other hand, for the first time, Gaiety-Galaxy will be selling cards for Rs 200. The rates for this budget cinema have never exceeded Rs 170. However, floor tickets for Gaiety and Galaxy can be purchased for Rs 180.
