Sandeep Reddy Vanga-Prabhas’ Spirit postponed to Diwali 2027, set to release on October 29

Prabhas and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s upcoming movie Spirit has gotten a new release date. The action movie, which was supposed to come out in cinemas on March 5, 2027, will now be shown all around the world on October 29, 2027, which is the same day as Diwali.

The film features Prabhas, along with Triptii Dimri, Vivek Oberoi and Aishwarya Desai.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga wrote and directed the movie, and it is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Pranay Reddy Vanga, Krishan Kumar and Prabhakar Reddy Vanga.

Spirit’s release date shift sets up a potential Diwali box-office clash

With Spirit now set for October 29, 2027, it might compete with Ramayana Part 2, the second part of Nitesh Tiwari and Namit Malhotra’s mythological film.
That movie has Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi in important roles. But how much of a competition it will be depends on when both movies are actually released.

A Diwali release places Spirit in a major theatrical window, with the Prabhas and Vanga collaboration expected to draw a lot of attention from audiences in different markets.
The new date also means that the film is coming out several months later than the earlier announced March 2027 release.

What we know about Spirit

Spirit was first announced on October 23, 2025, on Prabhas’ birthday.
The announcement had a sound-story teaser called “One Bad Habit” and introduced the film as a story about a tough police officer.Prabhas is set to play an IPS officer, and Vivek Oberoi will be part of the main villain role.

The film’s first-look poster was released on January 1, 2026, showing Prabhas in a rough look with long hair and visible injuries.
Written and directed by Vanga, Spirit is being made by T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures.

The film was originally planned for a worldwide release on March 5, 2027.
That date was confirmed again in August 2026, when Vanga also gave an update on the production. The latest news now moves the film to the Diwali 2027 window.
