Karan Johar recalls how Salman Khan said yes to Kuch Kuch Hota Hai without hearing the full script

Karan Johar talked about casting for his first movie, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, during the first episode of Koffee With Karan Season 9.He shared how Salman Khan agreed to be in the movie after many top actors refused the role.

Johar remembered that Khan casually told him, "You've been shopping, come tell me the story tomorrow." The next day, Johar went to Khan's apartment to explain the film.

Even though Khan hadn't heard the whole story, he agreed to be in the movie while wearing yellow shorts.

Johar also said that Khan was ready to take the role even though he wasn't going to be paid for his part.

This happened when Johar was trying to find the right cast for his first film.

They also talked about their families being close for a long time.

Johar shared that his father had gone to Mauritius to get government approval for Khan's shoot in Hello Brother.This showed how their families had always supported each other.

They also remembered a funny moment during the movie's climax.

The camera operator accidentally filmed the whole scene in slow motion, so they had to reshoot it.

Even though Khan had another shoot planned, he postponed it by a day to stay on set and help finish the scene.

His support helped the team get the scene right.

The first episode of Koffee With Karan Season 9 looked back at how the film was made and the friendship between Johar and Khan.
