Godzilla Minus Zero’s India release likely to be PUSHED to November 20 due to Ramayana’s two-week IMAX exclusivity

Source has been keeping up with the latest news about Godzilla Minus Zero.Last month, we talked to Kamal Gianchandani, who is the Chief Business Planning & Strategy at PVR INOX Limited and also runs PVR INOX Pictures Limited. He confirmed that the long-awaited movie would come out in India.Earlier this month, we told readers that Godzilla Minus Zero was planned to release in India on November 6, the same day as everywhere else. But now, there's a change in plans.

On October 27, the social media account of PVR INOX Pictures shared a poster for Godzilla Minus Zero.

This is the first official message from the distribution company confirming that the film will release in India. The poster also says 'Filmed for IMAX', which suggests that the film will also be shown in IMAX screens in the country. But the exact release date hasn't been announced yet.The poster only says 'Only in theatres this November'.

A trade source told Bollywood Hungama, "Godzilla Minus Zero is a movie made for IMAX.

So is Ramayana.Ramayana is a local film and has a two-week exclusivity window on IMAX screens in India. So, if PVR INOX has mentioned IMAX on the poster and in their social media post, it's safe to assume that Godzilla Minus Zero will most likely release in India two weeks later, on November 20, when Ramayana starts on the big screen on November 5.However, they are still discussing whether they can release the film on November 20 or bring it to cinemas on November 13.An official announcement should come soon."

Earlier, Bollywood Hungama had reported that Godzilla Minus Zero would have limited shows in India's IMAX theaters.

That means, at most IMAX cinemas, the film might only have one showing, while the rest would be for Ramayana. When asked about this, the trade source said, "Yes, that's what's expected to happen, though a final decision will be made closer to the release."

Despite this, fans are excited about the announcement by PVR INOX Pictures.

The source said, "For almost two weeks, fans in India were wondering if Godzilla Minus Zero would even come out in India. This update was really needed."

Meanwhile, an industry insider noted, "The Hunger Games: Sunrise On The Reaping is also planned for release on November 20.

It's also an IMAX film and is expected to come out in the premium format in India.Plus, Ramayana is doing very well in its third week. So, it will be tough to split showtimes between these three films in the third week of November, especially if The Hunger Games: Sunrise On The Reaping also comes out in IMAX."
