The group from Madgaon Express is getting ready for another exciting journey.Kunal Kemmu is starting work on the second part of the movie, which is a follow-up to his 2024 film.Pratik Gandhi, Divyenndu, and Avinash Tiwary are expected to come back as their popular characters.
A report from Mid-Day says that the sequel is in the early stages of preparation and might start shooting in February or March 2027.
Kunal Kemmu, who wrote and directed the first movie, has also written the script for this one and locked it about a month ago.A source said, “The three actors are really excited to return as their beloved characters.If everything goes according to plan, the film will start shooting in February or March 2027.The preparation is already in motion.”
Kunal Kemmu wants to keep the friendship and adventures of the three friends going.
Madgaon Express followed childhood friends Divyenndu’s Pratik, Pratik Gandhi’s Ayush, and Avinash Tiwary’s Dhanush as their much-anticipated trip to Goa turned into a series of strange and crazy events involving drugs, criminals, and death threats.
The movie became a big hit, largely because of the chemistry between the three main characters and the funny way they showed friendship.
For the sequel, Kunal Kemmu wants to expand on the world he created instead of just repeating the same situations from the first movie.
The story will focus on the three friends again.“Kunal sees the sequel as a natural continuation of the friendship and adventures of the trio,” the source added.
Before Madgaon Express 2 starts, Kunal Kemmu will be directing a new film called Vibe.
The movie also stars Preity Zinta and Sparsh Shrivastava, and Kunal is the director.
Vibe is set to release on September 18.
