Speaking to source, the director of the film, Abhijeet Shirish Deshpande, said the movie is still moving forward.
He explained that the initial plan was to start filming in April and then move indoors after the rains.However, the schedule was delayed by two months, and things became messy.Now, they are planning to start filming in April 2027 with some more big names joining the cast along with Siddhant and Tamannaah.
The new schedule allows the team to do all the outdoor scenes first and then use the monsoon season for the indoor parts.
The film will show Shantaram's journey from the silent film days through the introduction of sound and color.
It will highlight his growth as one of India's most important filmmakers.He directed several famous films in Hindi and Marathi, like Do Aankhen Barah Haath (1957), Dr.Kotnis Ki Amar Kahani (1946), Amar Bhoopali (1951), and Pinjara (1971).
This is Siddhant Chaturvedi's first biographical role.
