Toxic Hindi version faces CBFC cuts; abusive dialogue to child muted, drug scene reduced, ‘obscene’ dialogue replaced

The much-awaited film, Toxic, is set to release tomorrow, and strong early sales show that people are really excited.

While the original Kannada version was censored way back on August 13, the Hindi dubbed version took longer to get certified.Finally, on August 25, just a day before the release, the certification was completed.In this article,  we will share exclusive details about the cuts made to the Hindi version of Yash's film.

  

To begin with, an 'abusive' word was asked to be replaced.

An 'offensive' dialogue in the first half and an 'abusive' dialogue directed at a child in the second half were asked to be muted.

A scene dealing with drug abuse was reduced as per the instructions of the CBFC's Examining Committee.

An 'obscene' dialogue in the second half was also asked to be replaced.Lastly, the statutory warning was originally in Tamil and was requested to be changed to Hindi.

After these changes, the Hindi version of Toxic was given an 'A' certificate.

The length of the film, as mentioned on the censor certificate, is 194.12 minutes.In simple terms, that’s 3 hours, 14 minutes, and 12 seconds.

Meanwhile, the Tamil version of Toxic was granted certification on August 20.

Only one change was made in this version — a dialogue that translated to 'son of a w*e' was asked to be replaced.

Alongside Yash, Toxic features Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth, Akshay Oberoi, and others.

The film is directed by Geetu Mohandas and produced by Venkat K Narayana's KVN Productions and Yash's Monster Mind Creations LLP.

Toxic's Andhra bookings begin  

Earlier in the day, Bollywood Hungama had reported that Toxic's bookings in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana had not started yet.

A few hours after our report, ticket sales opened with huge interest in the South region.Moreover, the government of Telangana allowed theaters to increase ticket prices from August 26 to September 4.As a result, single-screen theaters could raise prices by Rs.50, and multiplexes could increase prices by Rs.100.The increased ticket prices should include GST.

Furthermore, the producers were directed to contribute a mandatory Rs.

1 crore into the Telugu Film Industry Employees' Welfare Committee Account.
