Mithun Chakraborty undergoes surgery in Kolkata; CM Suvendu Adhikari visits actor in hospital

Veteran actor and BJP leader Mithun Chakraborty had a surgery at a private hospital in Kolkata on Thursday.As per reports, the actor is doing well and is recovering after doctors took out a metal plate that was placed after a previous injury.

The news made West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari visit the hospital to check on the actor's health.

Hospital officials said Chakraborty had surgery to take out a metal plate that was placed after an earlier accident.

The operation went well, and the actor is being monitored by doctors.

It is reported that the actor is in stable condition and there are no issues after the surgery.

Chief Minister visits actor, wishes him a speedy recovery

After the surgery, West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari shared an update after visiting Chakraborty at the hospital.

On social media, he wrote, "Respected film actor and BJP central committee member Mithun Chakraborty was admitted to a private hospital in Kolkata due to health reasons.

I went to the hospital today to see him.I spoke with him and checked on his health.I pray to God for his quick recovery."

Besides his acting career, Mithun Chakraborty is a well-known leader of the BJP in West Bengal.

He actively campaigned for the party during the 2026 Assembly elections, which resulted in the BJP winning the state government.

Professionally, the actor will appear in Rajinikanth's highly anticipated movie Jailer 2.
