Before Karna with Salman Khan, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra to direct Vikrant Massey in a Love Story

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra is busy preparing for his biggest project yet, Karna, which is funded by Excel Entertainment.The film has been in the works for five years, and the team is finally ready to start production in 2027.Earlier, it was shared that Bollywood star Salman Khan will play the lead role in this war story based on the complex character of Karna from the Mahabharata.

As work on Karna continues, with filming planned to begin in August 2027, source has learned that Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra is set to direct a short 30-day film starring Vikrant Massey.

"Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra has cast Vikrant Massey as the lead in his upcoming film, which is described as a small-town love story.It's a story he has been thinking about for a long time and wants to share with the audience through Vikrant Massey," said a source.

The source added that while Mehra works on the love story, Excel Entertainment and the rest of the technical team will continue with the pre-production of Karna.

"Karna is a big two-part film, and this one is a smaller story he wants to tell before fully committing to the five-year project," the source explained.

For those who may not know, Salman Khan is confirmed to play Karna in this epic film, which is being produced by Excel Entertainment and is set to begin production in August 2027.
