Director Honey Trehan's newest movie, *Satluj*, was taken off ZEE5 in India just two days after it first came out on Friday, July 3.The film is no longer available on the streaming service in the country, but it is still accessible in other parts of the world.
This sudden move has left many users confused and surprised as they found the movie missing from the Indian platform shortly after its release.
Neither ZEE5 nor the film's team has shared the exact reason for this change.
In response, ZEE5 released a statement thanking the audience for their support.
They praised the film's reception and expressed their appreciation for the viewers' engagement."The response to *Satluj* since its release has been truly overwhelming.We are deeply grateful to every viewer who chose to subscribe, watch and support the film.Your love and support have meant a great deal to us and to everyone involved in bringing this story to life.At ZEE5, we stand firmly by *Satluj* and the creative vision behind it.We believe strong storytelling has the power to inspire, endure and leave a lasting impact.We remain committed to supporting real and meaningful stories," the statement said.
The statement also confirmed that the film has been removed from the Indian platform.
"In light of the current developments, *Satluj* will be unavailable in India until further notice.We remain committed to exploring every appropriate avenue through due process to bring the film back to our audiences as soon as possible," they added.
ZEE5 ended the statement by reaffirming its commitment to creators.
"Our commitment to creators and to stories told with conviction, artistic integrity and purpose remains unwavering," they said.
*Satluj* is based on the life of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra from Punjab.
The film features Diljit Dosanjh in the lead role, along with Arjun Rampal, Suvinder Vicky, Geetika Vidya Ohlyan and Kanwaljit Singh.The movie was previously titled *Punjab '95*.
