King becomes Shah Rukh Khan’s most expensive film; Siddharth Anand directorial cost shoots up to Rs. 450 crores

Shah Rukh Khan means big, bigger, and biggest.As the superstar prepares to return to the big screen after three long years with the Siddharth Anand directed film King, the excitement is growing every day.The movie started filming in May 2025 and is expected to finish by August 2026.Over the course of one year and three months, the team behind King has filmed the movie in many places around the world for about 150 days, working with some of the biggest stunt teams in the world.

The film also requires top-of-the-line VFX, which is being handled by Shah Rukh Khan's own company, Red Chillies Entertainment.
With six months left until the release, Bollywood Hungama has learned exclusively that King is set to become the most expensive film in Shah Rukh Khan's career, beating his previous highest-grossing film, Jawan."Shah Rukh Khan always wants to give the audience the best possible product.King started as an action thriller, but the vision of SRK and Sid has turned it into a big-budget action thriller with some of the biggest action sequences the audience will ever see," said a source from Bollywood Hungama.

The source also mentioned that the budget of King is about Rs.
450 crore, not including print, publicity, and the actor's salary."Every bit of money spent is to provide the audience with a top-quality cinematic experience.You will see every rupee spent on the screen, as it's a new experience for Shah Rukh Khan," the source added.

For those who don't know, the budget of Jawan was also around Rs.
400 crore, which was higher than the budget of Pathaan at Rs.350 crore.With King, the superstar is ready to take the standard of action in Indian cinema even higher.
