Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai Movie Review Synopsis:
HAI JAWANI TOH ISHQ HONA HAI is about a man and his two pregnant partners.
Jass (Varun Dhawan) is a wedding photographer who falls in love with Bani (Mrunal Thakur) while working at her sister's wedding. Bani falls for him and they get married. After five years, Bani asks for a divorce because Jass wants a child and she does not. A judge (Ali Asgar) decides to cancel the marriage after six months, hoping they will get back together. But Bani is not interested in getting back with him. Heartbroken, Jass moves to London where he meets Preet (Pooja Hegde). They start dating and everything looks good until one day Bani shows up at Jass's place. She announces that she is pregnant with his child. That same day, Preet also tells Jass that she is pregnant. What happens next is the main part of the story.

Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai Movie Story Review:
Yunus Sajawal's story is similar to the kind of movies that David Dhawan usually makes.
His screenplay has a lot of funny and crazy parts that are mostly enjoyed by the target audience, though some parts could have been better. The dialogues are not funny at the beginning but become quite funny later in the movie.

David Dhawan's direction is fun and vibrant.
Like his previous films, the movie focuses more on entertainment than on making sense. He wants the audience to relax and enjoy themselves. Fortunately, he succeeds in that. The story is wild and full of funny characters and situations to keep viewers interested. Also, the songs are well-made and add to the entertainment value.

On the downside, the humor does not land well in the first half.
In fact, not many jokes work in the first 20 minutes. In the second half, there are times when the movie loses its interest. Some scenes feel similar to other movies in this genre, like GARAM MASALA, SAAJAN CHALE SASURAL, MAIN TERA HERO, and many others. The climax could have been more exciting, but the story ends too simply.

Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai Movie Review Performances:
Varun Dhawan gives a bit over-the-top performance in a few scenes but overall performs very entertainingly.
He looks very stylish, which fans are sure to like. Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde also deliver great performances. Both are presented in a glamorous way by David Dhawan. Maniesh Paul (Kunnu) has done more funny roles before, but he still adds to the humor. Jimmy Shergill (Jogi Randhawa) and Rajesh Kumar (Ghuggi) are trustworthy. Rakesh Bedi (Selfie Kumar) and Chunky Panday (Dr Gulati) have limited screen time but are great. Mouni Roy (Rasamalai) is a pleasant surprise. Ayesha Raza (Jass's mother) has little to do. Manoj Pahwa (Shukla), Rajpal Yadav (Mishra), and Johny Lever (Godbole) each appear for short scenes and are pleasant. Lastly, Kriti Sanon's cameo is impressive.

Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai movie music and other technical aspects:
All the songs in the film - 'Wow', 'Tera Ho Jaun', 'Vyah Karwado Ji' and 'Chunari Chunari' - are upbeat and fun.
However, 'Chunari Chunari' is the best part. Raju Singh's music score fits well with the film's story.

Ayananka Bose's cinematography adds to the film's charm.
The production design by Late Rajat Poddar and Parijat Poddar is elegant. The costumes designed by Aki Narula and Samidha Wangnoo are stylish and glamorous. Ritesh Soni's editing is sharp and clean.

Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai Movie Review Conclusion:
Overall, HAI JAWANI TOH ISHQ HONA HAI is a fun and entertaining film that fits well with David Dhawan's style.
It has broad humor, colorful characters, and a lot of music and humor that makes people smile. Though the first part is not very funny and the story is not all that new, the film manages to make people laugh. At the box office, it should do well because of its family-friendly content and its position as a stress-relieving movie.
