Earlier in the week, there were reports going viral that the budget of Love And War had gone up to Rs. 425 crores, and the production was in trouble.
However, our trusted sources close to the project say that Love And War is moving forward as planned.
"The budget of Love And War has definitely gone up, but this is common with all of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's films. Originally, it was planned as a Rs. 250 crore movie, and the costs have now increased to Rs. 350 crores during the shoot. Sanjay Leela Bhansali doesn't give up on his vision, and he is very passionate about this film, which he believes could be his best work so far. The Rs. 425 crore figure is being spread to damage the project, and there's no truth to it," a source told.
The source added, "Unlike many movies that rely heavily on VFX, Love And War is mostly shot on sets with recreations of the past.
This doesn’t cost a lot. Anyone who knows about filmmaking would say the Rs. 425 crore budget is a fake number. But the truth will come out, and the people should know that Love And War is a Rs. 350 crore film. The makers also plan to spend another Rs. 30 crore on marketing, which will take the total cost to Rs. 380 crores."
As for the release date, Love And War will now come out in 2027, between the two Ramayana films.
The shooting will be finished by June.
