O’Romeo Box Office: Opens on expected lines, crosses Rs. 9 crores mark, will grow well over the weekend

The way people were booking tickets for O'Romeo suggested the movie would make around 7-8 crores. But it did a little better, reaching 9.01 crores. This was because more people came to watch the movie in the evenings and especially during the night shows, which helped push the earnings from 8 to 9 crores.

For Shahid Kapoor, this movie opened bigger than his previous film Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, which made 7.02 crores, and much better than his last movie Deva, which earned 5.78 crores.
Even when you look at his team with Vishal Bhardwaj, this movie is doing better than their earlier film Haider, which made 6.14 crores in 2014. Triptii Dimri is also doing well compared to her last movie Dhadak 2, which made 3.65 crores.

That said, this is a well-made film by Sajid Nadiadwala, and the budget is clearly visible on screen.
This means there is still a lot of room for the film to grow from a box office point of view. The key will be how it performs over the weekend. It's expected to do well on day two and three, but the target is to make between 38-40 crores for the weekend. After that, the movie will probably do better on weekday screenings.
