The early advance bookings are showing a strong opening for Border 2, possibly around Rs 40 crore, which sets up a great chance for the film to do even better during the extended Republic Day period.
Border 2 is a sequel to the 1997 cult film, Border, and was always expected to have a strong response before its release.
The final advance for Border 2 is around 2.25 lakh, which is about 40% higher than the Hrithik Roshan and NTR-led War 2, which came out on Republic Day and opened at Rs 28.50 crore.
This direct comparison is giving Border 2 a head start of around Rs 40 crore. The film is also expected to perform well in mass markets, which should help it achieve even better results.
Border 2 is expected to be the next big hit in the Hindi film industry after the December release, Dhurandhar.
