Ranveer Singh’s Pralay to roll after Don 3; filming likely to begin by mid-2026: Report

Ranveer Singh is wrapping up the year 2025 with the success of his film Dhurandhar, and his plans for 2026 are looking even bigger. His highly anticipated post-apocalyptic movie, temporarily named Pralay, is now getting ready to start filming, with production likely to begin by mid-2026.

According to a report from Mid-Day, Pralay will start filming after Ranveer finishes his work on Don 3.
A source said, “Don 3, directed by Farhan Akhtar, will start in 2026. After that, Ranveer will focus on Pralay. The exact timeline will be set in January once he gets his schedule for Don 3.”

The delayed start gives director Jai Mehta more time to build the world of the film, which is described as a post-apocalyptic zombie thriller with a strong story.
Pralay is said to follow a character fighting for survival, using the zombie genre to show the breakdown of society, emotions, and morals. The story is set in a dystopian version of Mumbai, similar to The Hunger Games.

Sources also shared that the makers are planning a major visual change for the city.
Large parts of Mumbai will be recreated as a ruined place, mixing real sets with digital effects. “Big areas of the city will be digitally aged to look abandoned. Some parts of the film will be shot in Mumbai before moving to other places,” the source added.

Pralay is a big deal for Jai Mehta, who previously co-directed the acclaimed Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story with his father Hansal Mehta, and later directed the web series Lootere.
This will be his first feature film as a director, and it’s being made as a big, creative project.

At the same time, Dhurandhar is still doing well at the box office, showing Ranveer Singh’s strong performance.
The film is produced by Aditya Dhar and Lokesh Dhar’s B62 Studios, and Jio Studios. It also stars Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, and Sanjay Dutt.
