WWE legend John Cena has officially said goodbye to professional wrestling, ending a legendary part of sports entertainment. In his last televised match, Cena lost to Gunther at Saturday Night's main event in Washington, D.C., wrapping up one of the most impactful careers in WWE history.
In a recent WWE interview, Cena talked openly about why he's stepping away from competing.
"I chose to retire. I promised WWE I wouldn't stick around when my skills aren't matching up with the product, and they aren't. I'm 48. My 40-yard dash time is gone. I can't keep up with the product now, and that's okay because what I do isn't who I am. Realizing that has helped me decide to let these guys take over because they're really good. If I keep going, I'd be doing a disservice to the fans."
After his announcement, many Indian and global celebrities shared their respect for Cena's amazing career on social media.
Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan posted an Instagram story with Cena's entrance music, "You can't see me," and pictures from his last match. Other entertainers also expressed their admiration.

Lilly Singh shared a touching message, saying, "I'm watching John Cena's last match and going back to when I did my 12 collabs.
John Cena came to my house by himself. No publicist, no agent, no manager. Just drove by himself. He was the most down-to-earth celebrity I've ever worked with. I don't see you, but I see you."
WWE legend Dwayne, also known as The Rock, paid tribute online, writing, "John, you live up to one of my favorite quotes, 'It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.'
Congratulations on your historic and extraordinary @wwe career, my friend. Have fun, tear it down, and as always, 'thank you for the house.'"
The Undertaker also expressed his admiration, posting, "Nice job.
Those were the words I said to you 23 years ago when you first debuted. Now, on the day of your final match, I say again… nice job. Hustle, loyalty, and respect are more than just words. For 23 years, you've lived by those values. Your passion for our business and dedication to our fans is unmatched. Being in the ring with you and being part of your journey has been an honor. As your in-ring career comes to an end, be proud of all the work and memories you've created. Enjoy the last ride tonight, my friend, and one final time… nice job."
Cena's retirement not only marks the end of a remarkable wrestling career but also shows his lasting impact on entertainment and beyond.
