She also recalled how much he loved his family and how he connected with everyone in her family with his warm and friendly nature.
Dharmendra passed away on Monday, November 24, at the age of 89.
Hema remembered him as a loving husband and a caring father to their daughters, Esha and Ahana. She also remembered how he always showed affection and was interested in all of her family members.
She wrote, "Dharam ji… He was many things to me.
Loving husband, adoring father of our two girls, Esha and Ahaana, friend, philosopher, guide, poet, my 'go to' person in all times of need — in fact, he was everything to me." She also said that he was a constant support through both good and difficult times. "He endeared himself to all my family members with his easy, friendly ways, always showing affection and interest in all of them."
Hema also spoke about his status as a public figure, calling him a "unique icon" because of his talent, humility, and popularity.
She said his fame and achievements in the film industry would never fade. She called her loss "indescribable" and said the emptiness left behind would last the rest of her life. She added that she now held on to many memories from their long years together.
Dharmendra, often called Bollywood's "He-Man," appeared in more than 300 films.
He passed away in Mumbai 12 days after being released from Breach Candy Hospital.
