He shared a shocking personal story involving his daughter, Nitara.
He said, "I want to tell you all a small incident that happened at my house a few months back. My daughter was playing a video game, and there are some games you can play with someone." He explained that while playing with a stranger online, Nitara received a message asking if she was male or female. She replied she was female, and then the stranger asked for nude pictures. Nitara immediately stopped the game and told her mom about it.
Akshay highlighted that such incidents are more common than people think, especially for children and teenagers who spend a lot of time online.
He explained how predators often start with friendly chats before revealing their true intentions. "This is how things begin. This is also a part of cybercrime," he said with concern.
He made a heartfelt request to the authorities and the audience for better awareness programs in schools.
"I would request the Chief Minister that in our Maharashtra state, every week in the seventh, eighth, ninth, and tenth standards, there should be a period called cyber period where children should be explained about it." He added, "You all know that this crime is becoming bigger than street crime. It is very important to stop this crime."
Akshay's emotional speech not only showed the increasing risk of digital crimes against minors but also reflected his proactive role as a parent and community member.
The event, supported by the Mumbai Police, aims to spread awareness about various forms of cybercrime and empower both children and parents to recognize and report online threats.
