Tiger Shroff usually makes movies that are suitable for all age groups. But with Baaghi 4, he made an exception. This is his first film that got an 'A' rating because of a lot of violence and blood. Even though the film was given an adult-only rating, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) still asked for some changes, according to Bollywood Hungama.
Some scenes, like a frontal nude scene, were hidden, and words like 'b****e' and 'fingering' were replaced. The word 'condom' was also muted.
Baaghi 4 was certified on August 26 and was set for release on September 5.
However, the Examining Committee (EC) made 23 cuts, both visual and audio. One scene of the hero standing on a coffin was removed. In another scene, a character lights a cigarette from a 'niranjan diya', and the EC wanted that one-second shot deleted. A scene where a hand is rubbed on a girl's hip was replaced. The film also had a frontal nude scene, which the CBFC asked to hide.
Another scene involved lighting a cigarette from an amputated hand, and that 13-second shot was cut.
A scene where a knife is thrown towards a statue of Jesus was also deleted. The CBFC also asked for the removal of a scene where a fist hits the statue of Jesus.
In addition to visual cuts, the CBFC also made changes in violent scenes.
Three scenes of throats being cut were deleted. Shots of hands being cut and two scenes of goons being killed by swords were also removed. A sequence with excessive violence lasting 11 seconds was cut. Finally, a scene where a sword was inserted into someone's skull was deleted.
In terms of audio cuts, the word 'bhang b*****a' was replaced, as were 'b****e' and 'fingering' used by the police.
The word 'condom' in the line 'Bhai tujhe condom mein hi rehna chahiye tha' was muted. The line 'Tera wajood hi mit jaayega God' was changed to 'Sab dekhte reh jayenge'. The line 'Woh bhi darta hai mujhse' was deleted, and 'Don khoke, ekdum ok' was muted.
Once these changes were made, Baaghi 4 received an 'A' certificate.
The film's length, as mentioned on the censor certificate, is 163.50 minutes, which is 2 hours, 43 minutes, and 50 seconds.
Three days later, on August 29, the makers of Baaghi 4 approached the CBFC again and decided to shorten the film further.
They cut 19 scenes and removed 6 minutes and 45 seconds, bringing the final run time to 157.05 minutes, or 2 hours, 37 minutes, and 5 seconds. This is the third film in recent times that went for voluntary cuts after getting certification, following War 2 and The Bengal Files.
