He began by saying, "She had a deep understanding of filmmaking.
She would know when the lighting wasn't perfect. She did most of her makeup herself. She decided what hairstyle would go with the costume. She would sketch the outfits she thought were suitable. For the movie 'Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja' (1993), Leena Daru was sent to Kashmir where she was shooting because she wasn't happy with the clothes sent for the trial. She gave the idea for the costume and color scheme. Because of that, I had to change the color scheme of the set to match the costume!"
Boney continued, "She would sketch everything.
You can check with Manish Malhotra and Neeta Lulla to see how much she contributed to their growth."
He also said, "At the start, her 4-5 Hindi films were dubbed.
She felt her performance wasn't good enough. So, she learned Hindi. She would have a Hindi teacher in the dubbing studio. That's how she started dubbing on her own. For 'Mom' (2017), she dubbed for the Tamil and Telugu versions. For the Malayalam version, there was a dubbing artist, but she sat with them to make sure the dubbing matched her performance. Very few artists show such dedication."
He added, "For 'Mom,' we wanted to hire A R Rahman, but he was expensive and we couldn't afford him.
We had money set aside for Sridevi's fees too. She told me, 'Don't give me the money, take A R Rahman instead!' It was a big amount—around Rs. 50-70 lakhs."
