Fawad Khan-Vaani Kapoor starrer Abir Gulaal expected to release on August 29 globally: Report

Fans of Fawad Khan in India were eagerly waiting for the release of his newfound Bollywood film, "Abir Gulaal," which was scheduled to premiere on May 9. However, the tragic event known as the Pahalgam attack on April 22 created a major disruption in the industry, prompting the indefinite postponement of "Abir Gulaal." Many feared the film might not see the light of day, but now the film is set to release, likely this month.

The report from Biz Asia Live states that "Abir Gulaal" will be released on August 29 globally, and the film has been renamed to "Aabeer Gulaal."
The report says little about an Indian release, but industry sources suggest it is unlikely to get one due to the ongoing opposition towards Pakistani artists working in Bollywood.

An insider said, "The makers of "Abir Gulaal" are likely to follow the trend of "Sardaar Ji 3," which did not get an Indian release because it starred a Pakistani actress, Hania Aamir.
However, "Sardaar Ji 3" went on to become a huge success overseas. Another Punjabi film, "Chal Mera Putt 4," also saw a failure in the Indian market but did well in other countries.

Promotions for "Abir Gulaal" were on full swing before the Pahalgam attack.
The film's music launch, held in Dubai on April 19 at the Global Village, garnered a massive response from fans and the media. However, this shifted overnight after the Pahalgam attack, leading the audio company Saregama to pull down the film's song.
