No change in release date for Shahid Kapoor-Vishal Bhardwaj’s next; to CLASH with Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar and Prabhas’ The RajaSaab on December 5

On July 6, it was announced that Ranveer Singh's much-awaited film, Dhurandhar, will come out on December 5, 2025. A week before that, the makers of the big-budget Pan-India horror comedy, The RajaSaab, also fixed its release for December 5. This made people think that Shahid Kapoor's upcoming movie, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, might not be on the same day and could move to another date, maybe the second Friday in January 2026. However, source has found out that the makers of Shahid Kapoor's film have no plans to change the date and will stick with December 5. 

A source told , "Shahid Kapoor's film was the first to take the December 5 slot. 

The production is moving smoothly and the movie is coming together well. Producer Sajid Nadiadwala is confident about the film and doesn't feel the need to change the date he originally picked. " 

An industry insider said, "Sajid Nadiadwala's decision to keep the December 5 date shows how much confidence he has in the film. 

The movie has a great cast, including Shahid Kapoor, Triptii Dimri, Nana Patekar, and Randeep Hooda. It promises to have the unique style of Vishal Bhardwaj, along with elements that could make it a hit at the box office. Plus, since it's a Vishal Bhardwaj film, it will also have some beautiful songs. So it's definitely a film worth watching. " 

In the past two years, the first Friday of December has become a popular release date. 

The movie Animal opened on that day and became a 500 crore blockbuster. Vicky Kaushal's Sam Bahadur also came out on December 1, 2023, and was a big success even though it was a serious drama. In 2024, Pushpa 2, the biggest movie of all time, hit the big screen on December 5, 2024. Will Shahid Kapoor-Vishal Bhardwaj's film and The RajaSaab also follow this trend? We'll have to wait and see.
