Anurag Kashyap’s Bandar starring Bobby Deol, Sanya Malhotra to premiere at TIFF 2025; first poster out

Anurag Kashyap's new movie called "Bandar" or "Monkey in a Cage" will have its world premiere at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival in 2025. The film, made by Nikhil Dwivedi, will be shown from September 4 to 14, 2025. It stars Bobby Deol and Sanya Malhotra in important roles. This is the first time the project has been officially announced with the title and cast details. 

The team released the first look of Bobby Deol from the movie, along with the news that the film has been officially selected for TIFF. 

They wrote, "The Story that should not have been told. . . But is the Official Selection at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival 2025. Our Film inspired from True Events is Premiering at #tiff50. " 

"Bandar" will be part of TIFF's Special Presentations section, which highlights contemporary films from around the world. 

This selection is a big deal for Indian cinema at one of the most respected film events globally. 

Anurag Kashyap, famous for movies like Gangs of Wasseypur, Black Friday, and Ugly, is back with his signature style of storytelling. 

Bobby Deol, who is having a strong comeback in his career, is the main actor. He is joined by Sanya Malhotra, Saba Azad, and Sapna Pabbi. 

Nikhil Dwivedi, who has produced hits like Veere Di Wedding and CTRL, is again supporting a unique story. 

He is also making a fantasy drama called Naagin with Shraddha Kapoor. 

The 50th Toronto International Film Festival, organized by Rogers, will feature films from more than 30 countries. 

"Monkey in a Cage" is one of the many world premieres and international films competing at the festival.
