Aamir Khan ADMITS that he was offered Rs. 125 cr for Sitaare Zameen Par’s OTT rights: “Mujhe woh badi company ke Rs 125 crore nahin chahiye. Mujhe meri audience ka sau rupaye chahiye”

Aamir Khan called the media for a special event on Tuesday, July 29, at a five-star hotel in Mumbai. The invitation didn't say what the big news would be, so the reporters arrived at the venue full of excitement and questions. Aamir stepped on stage and made a big announcement that made headlines—he said his new movie, Sitaare Zameen Par, will not be available on any OTT platforms after it finishes its theatrical run. There had been some talk about this for a while, but Aamir never confirmed or said no to releasing it on YouTube. But since he's always in tune with trends, he chose to make the announcement in a big way.

Aamir started his speech by talking about how YouTube is the biggest online video platform in India.
He also mentioned that with the rise of UPI, people can now make online payments easily. That's why he decided to release the film on YouTube.

As he was talking about the importance of YouTube and how it can bring the film to even the farthest parts of the country, a poster of Sitaare Zameen Par was shown on the screen.
The poster also said that the sports drama will be available on August 1 on Aamir Khan's YouTube channel, called Aamir Khan Talkies. The film will be available on a Pay-Per-View basis, meaning people have to pay a small fee to watch it. Aamir has chosen Rs. 100 as the price for the film.

Bollywood Hungama was the first to report that Aamir had been offered Rs.
125 crores by Netflix to skip YouTube and instead release the film on their platform. A journalist asked him about it, and he said, "I have full confidence in the pay-per-view model, and I'll tell you why. I don't want Rs. 125 crore from OTT platforms. I want Rs. 100 from the common people of our country. I don't need that big amount from a big company. I want that small amount from my audience. I trust my work and I trust my audience. If my work is worth it, the audience will first watch it in the theatre and then watch it on YouTube through pay-per-view. "

On the topic of OTT deals, he added, "Cinema is suffering because of these kinds of deals.
Such a deal helps only me. I can't do it. It would affect the industry in the long run. That's why I refused. "
