Kunal Kapoor on breaking his mould in Jewel Thief and why OTT is for misfits

Don't watch Kunar for a long time! Where did you hide your talented self? When you last  saw you at Ankahi Kahaniyan. Why are you so loud? Hidden? I could see it. It's just that I didn't have a spotlight. People assume they are not involved in the industry because they are not seen. But I'm always working to make my job better. At the same time, we have an author's room  to write scripts. The idea was that if you can't find a script that has a mind, you have  to develop the job you believe in.

What does she need from a Jewel Thief and how important is her role?  What infected me for this project was the opportunity to loosen me from my regular character type. During my entire career, I have been occupied as a poet,  philosopher, and a character embodying the voice of reason. My character Vikram represents a complete departure from this pattern. It is defined by actions rather than words. His expression has the economy  that I found to be persuasive. I actually did a poetic monologue to Punchline in this role. How was it like working with other talented actors like Saif and Jaideep? My characters spend most of the film persecution, but the experience of working with Saif and Jaidep, rather than sharing many scenes with them,  was fantastic. What impressed me about the saifu was how he caught his attention without  demanding it. His presents are hard work. Some stars have the feeling that they are saying their status on set, but Saif is simply immersed in their work, and people naturally fascinate themselves. Beyond his talent, he is truly an incredible society.

Jaideep has this incredible quality of authentic presence, both in front of the camera and in the outings. He  mastered the art of simple beings. This may be the most difficult ability an actor grows.

How do you judge your previous career? Don't you think you're not doing enough work? It was a mixed bag, frankly the equal parts were pleasantly frustrating. A pure amount? It's definitely not as much as I would like. Often I ask if it's too selective, but it doesn't seem to have a good script that I would choose. The movie set is my favorite place in the world. That's really what I feel the most alive. I had a 25-year love relationship with the cinema, and grew from production assistant to assistant director and current actor. But I know the best still comes.

How beneficial is an OTT platform for a good job? It is undoubtedly open to a variety of stories and opportunities for actors who have not been available in the past. When I started, they had to fit. I think you're using the OTT platform. There is also more space for outsiders.

What's after the jewel thief? There is a movie with Chiranjeevi Sir, named Vishwambara. It's  kind of a role I've never played before and I don't think I'll ever get a chance  again. I look forward to seeing how people react to it. And then there is Ramayan.
