Kota's District Consumer Dispute Resolution Commission, together with the manufacturer of Vimal Pan Masala, has registered lawsuits against actors Shah Luk Khan, Ajay Devin and Tiger Shroff. The committee sought to appear before court in court for misleading advertisements in connection with the materials of the product.
The case was filed by social worker and BJP leader Indramohan Singh Honey through senior supporter Vivek Nandwana. The case deals with fraudulent advertising and misleading notes in accordance with §89 of the Consumer Protection Act. In the complaint, celebrities claimed through an ad for Vimal Pan Masala that the product contains Kesar (Saffron). According to the complaints, the market price for Safran is very high. Therefore, its presence in bread masala products available at reasonable speeds is highly questionable. Petent also claims that the manufacturer has not provided any concrete evidence to justify this claim, and product packaging warnings appear in small fonts that are easy to read.
Following the complaint, Anurag Gautam, chairman of the Consumer Committee, published a message preparing three actors and manufacturers to explain their attitude towards the court.
The incident again sparked a debate about the accountability of siblings in their branded interests, particularly for products relating to cigarettes, health concerns, or misleading claims. In recent years, several Bollywood stars have been criticized for supporting Gutkha, Pan Masala and similar products often associated with harmful health effects. Many social activists and legal experts believe that public figures should be responsible for the impact of products they support, as it has a significant impact on consumer behavior.
It is still unclear how the actor and brand will respond to the allegations during the incident. This development could create a significant precedent in relation to the ethical responsibility of celebrities in advertising
