Summary of the Vijay 69 movie review: VIJAY 69 tells the story

Synopsis of the Vijay 69 movie review:
Vijay 69 – Movie Review – Synopsis: VIJAY 69 is the story of an extraordinary man. Vijay Mathew (69) lives alone in Victoria Society, Mumbai. He was once a swimming coach, but lost his wife Anna (Ekavali) to cancer 15 years ago. An incident makes him realise that he has not achieved anything in life. Hence, he starts searching for the meaning of life. One day, he finds out that 18-year-old Aditya Jaiswal (Mihir Ahuja), who lives in the same hamlet, is set to become India's youngest triathlete. Vijay investigates and realises that if he also takes part in the race, he will become India's oldest triathlete. Hence, Vijay applies for it and after some hurdles, his application is accepted. However, a triathlon requires intensive training as it involves 1.5km swimming, 40km cycling and 10km running. Vijay's daughter Deeksha (Suranya Panigrahi) is against the idea. Moreover, the socio-political situation may also see Vijay being ruled out of the race. What happens next will set the tone for the rest of the film.

Hence, Vijay applies for it and after a few hurdles, his application is accepted. But he needs to train intensively as the triathlon involves 1.5km swimming, 40km cycling and 10km running. Vijay's daughter Deeksha (Suranya Panigrahi) is against the idea. There is also a possibility that the socio-political situation might exclude Vijay from the race. What happens next will set the tone for the rest of the film. Vijay 69 Movie Review: Akshay Roy's story is simple. Akshay Roy's screenplay is well thought out and written. Akshay Roy's dialogues (additional dialogues by Abbas Tirewala) are hilarious and creative. Akshay Roy's direction is good. He keeps the tone of the film light and ensures that the events are relatable, especially for older audiences. The duration is kept under control, with a lot packed into just 112 minutes. Vijay's songs are the highlight, but what works even better is the bond between Vijay and Aditya. The intro scene is pretty funny. But the last 15 minutes are best saved by Akshay. You know what's going to happen, but not how it's going to happen. The director has been successful in this regard and will bring tears to the eyes of the viewers. On the other hand, not all jokes work. The scene where Vijay jumps into a swimming pool during an argument with his parents and is asked to undergo a medical check-up does not provoke laughs. The entire fight between Vijay and Aditya is an interesting idea on paper but looks quite childish on screen. There are too many insults in the dialogues too. So, keep that in mind as the trailer suggests that this is a clean family entertainment film. Vijay 69 Movie Review - Performances: Anupam Kher delivers a great performance. This kind of role demands a lot emotionally and physically but Anupam gives it his all. He is good in the practice scenes but needs to be careful in the emotional scenes. Chunky Panday (Dr. Fali Bhathena) is a bit over the top but that suits his role perfectly and he delivers a good performance. Mihir Ahuja, who shot to fame with THE ARCHIES, leaves a strong impression. He plays a key role and will definitely be watched out for. Gudi Maruti (Parminder Bakshi), Ekavali and Suranya Panigrahi leave a lasting impression. Adrija Sinha (Ruhi, content creator) is passable. Dharmendra Gohil (Aakash, Aditya's father) and Saanand Verma (a corrupt journalist) are very good in their roles. Ketika Sharma (Maruti) is lovely. Jiten Mukhi (Vivek Sagar), Paritosh Sand (Ranjit Kumar, who supports Vijay in the Triathlon Association of India), Abhihai Joshi (Sunil Saxena), Ravish Desai (Abhimanyu, Deeksha's husband), Ayan Hasan Ali Khan (Akhil, Deeksha's son) are decent. Kunal Vijaykar (Kishore) and Ashwin Mushran (Yaag) are at the tail end. Vijay 69 Film Music and Other Technical Aspects: VIJAY 69 is a song-less film. However, the song "Aage Bhi Jaane Na Tu" from WAQT [1965] is used aptly in the film to add to its impact. Gaurav Chatterjee's background music is as light-hearted as the film's tone. Sahil Bhardwaj's cinematography is apt for the Mumbai scenes and is breathtaking at the climax. Meenal Agarwal's production design and Darshan Jalan and Manish Tiwari's costumes are realistic. Sunil Rodrigues' action is impressive. Manas Mittal's editing is satisfying. Vijay 69 Movie Review Conclusion: Overall, Vijay 69 is a light-hearted and moving story thanks to its relatable quality, Anupam Kher's brilliant performance and an emotional climax.
