According to a Mid-Day report, a source revealed that "The success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and 3 has confirmed Kartik's belief in the power of franchises." He has suggested Bhushan to start negotiations with Mukesh Bhatt to acquire the title. Kartik is confident that building a love story under the Aashiqui series will boost it.”
The Aashiqui franchise has a rich history. The original 1990 film launched the careers of Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal. The 2013 sequel, Aashiqui 2, starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor, was also a huge commercial and critical success.
But the road to Aashiqui 3 is not without challenges. An ongoing dispute between T-Series and Vishesh Films over the franchise rights could further complicate things. Moreover, Anurag Basu's hectic schedule, including the reshoots for Metro... In Dino, may delay the start of the project. Despite these hurdles, Aaryan remains determined to revive the franchise. He is committed to shooting the film with utmost attention to detail. The actor is also interested in exploring opportunities for other series, including a possible sequel to his 2018 hit Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. "Anurag is busy with the reshoots for Metro... In Dino anyway." With this new development, the project won't begin until sometime next year. Kartik wants all aspects clear before stepping in front of the camera," the source added.
Meanwhile, Kartik Aaryan will soon begin shooting for Pati Patni Aur Woh 2 with Mudassar Aziz.
